Brazilian Cheese Bread, known as “pão de queijo” in Portuguese, is a mouthwatering delight that’s been enjoyed for centuries. Our Vegan recipe was specially created by our grandmother for one of our cousins, but is delightfully enjoyed by everyone! Many are surprised by the delicious flavor and that it is made from all plant based ingredients! The texture competes with our original recipe. Plant-based is an uncommon version of Brazilian cheese bread, and we are happy to challenge these standards today.
“VoVó” is Portuguese for Grandmother, and our Brazilian cheese bread is our grandmother’s recipe! The heart of our VoVó is supporting and being supported by community. We buy our products locally through a food distributor and our packaging is locally sourced through ePac over in Louisville. We try to be environmentally conscious by practicing “plastic bricking” when we produce, giving local cafes we partner with reusable container options to reduce waste, etc. Our recipe is traditionally gluten free by using tapioca flour. Unfortunately we are not celiac safe due to using a commissary kitchen, but we whole heartedly will be celiac safe once we have our own space!
To Prepare: Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees. Place frozen cheesebread one inch apart on baking sheet. Bake cheesebread for 25 to 30 minutes, or until golden-brown. Enjoy!
Ingredients: Gold Potatoes, Tapioca Flour (imported from Brazil), Salt, Sunflower Oil, Nutritional Yeast and Water.
Packaging: Brought to you in a reusable glass jar, please return it for cleaning and reuse (and to get your jar deposit back minus a small cleaning fee).
Storage / Shelf life: Keep in the freezer for up to 6 months
