Grama Grass’ rotational grazing process emulates the migration of bison, Colorado’s native ruminant, which kept Boulder’s wildland healthy for millennia. Through a cycle of intense grazing followed by periods of letting the land rest, herds of thousands of bison naturally enriched the soil, promoted plant health, and increased biological activity. With their management intensive grazing, their herd mimics this pattern of high impact followed by rest to reap the same benefits for our prairie ecosystem.
Unlike other farming practices, their unique grazing process aims to look at the whole picture.
With each property they ask the question, “what does this property need to thrive?” and create a plan that fits its landscape.
