Delicious on its own, on top of a salad, or in baking. Buckwheat is a gluten free pseudo-cereal that can be used just like other grains, such as rice and barley. Buckwheat makes a great base for porridge, side dish or salad topping.
Groats are the hulled kernels of various cereal grains, such as oat, wheat, rye, and barley. Groats are whole grains that include the fiber-rich bran portion of the grain.

Cooking Directions: Rinse and drain buckwheat well. In a sauce pan, combine 1 cup buckwheat with 2 cups water. Bring to a simmer then cover with lid and simmer on low for 18-20 min. Just like with rice, you should hear hissing while cooking and it will get quiet when done.
