Colorado Pinto Bean and Millet Tempeh Burgers by Project Umami

Tempeh is an indigenous food from Indonesia, where it has been consumed as a staple for more than 300 years.  It is a significant source of protein, vitamin B12, and other healthy bioactive compounds. Tempeh is made by fermenting various nuts, grains and beans with the Rhizopus species of filamentous fungus.

Cooking Directions:

  1. Defrost
  2. Puncture with a fork on both sides generously
  3. Marinate in tamari and balsamic vinegar for 30 seconds to 1 day
  4. Brown both sides in sesame oil
  5. Serve on a roll, on rice or on its own

Ingredients: (All Organic) Project Umami Yellow & Green Split Pea Tempeh, Olive Oil, Coconut Aminos. Lemon Juice, Balsamic Vinegar, Beet Root Powder, Onion Powder, Garlic Powder
