Savory Maple Tempeh Strip by Project Umami

Formally known as “Tempeh Bacon” these strips are a fan favorite! Tempeh is an indigenous food from Indonesia, where it has been consumed as a staple for more than 300 years. It is a significant source of protein, vitamin B12, and other healthy bioactive compounds. Tempeh is made by fermenting various nuts, grains and beans with the Rhizopus species of filamentous fungus.

Cooking Directions:
- Defrost
- Puncture with a fork on both sides generously
- Marinate in tamari and balsamic vinegar for 30 seconds to 1 day
- Brown both sides in sesame oil
- Serve on a roll, on rice or on its own
